Testing Rules for Students

Testing Center Rules for Students:

Before entering the computer lab, students must:

  1. Follow the dress and grooming standards of the Honor Code.
  2. Arrive between 9:00 am and 2:00 pm.
  3. Place all of their belongings in their locker if they have one or in Row 7 if they don't.
  4. show their student ID (card or app) when they check in.
  5. Use a lab computer, not their personal one.

Failure to comply with any of these will result in the students not being allowed to take the test until they do.
If students arrive after 2:00 pm, they will not be allowed to take the test.

When entering the computer lab, students must:

  1. Not talk with other students.
    • If they have questions, they need task a test proctor.
    • If they talk with other students, they will receive one warning.
    • If it happens a second time, they will not be allowed to finish their test and will have to leave the computer lab. Their teacher will be notified of the situation.
  2. After logging in and authenticated with Duo, turn off their phones (not silence) and place them face-down in the designated area next to their computer.
    • If students use their phone during the test, they will not be allowed to finish their test and will have to leave the computer lab. The proctor will make a note the situation on the reservation sheet.
    • If students fail to turn their phone off and it rings or vibrates during the test, a proctor will give them a warning and watch them turn it off.
    • If it happens a second time, they will not be allowed to finish their test and will have to leave the computer lab. The proctor will make a note the situation on the reservation sheet.
  3. Not use any other website or resource unless allowed to do so by their teacher.
    • If students use other websites or resources that they are not allowed to use, they will not be allowed to finish their test and will have to leave the computer lab. The proctor will make a note the situation on the reservation sheet.

After finishing their test (either because they finished early or because it is the end time), students must:

  1. Log out of Canvas or LoomVue and their email.
    • If they do not log out, the next student to use the computer will have access to their account.
  2. Leave the computer lab immediately.
    • They cannot stay to wait for a friend or talk with other students on their way out.
    • They cannot stay to work on other things after they finish. 9:00 am-3:00 pm, it is a testing center, not a computer lab. If they want to work on homework during that time, they can check out a Chromebook from the front office and use it in the SASC.
