Friday Testing Rules
Check-in
To check in for their tests, students must:
- Follow the dress and grooming standards of the BYU Honor Code (Found Here)
- Arrive between 9:00 am and 2:00 pm.
- Place all of their belongings in their lockers or in Row 7.
- Show their student ID (either the physical card or the digital card in the app)
- Use a lab computer, not their personal one.
Failure to comply with any of these will result in the students not being allowed to take the test until they do.
If students arrive after 2:00 pm, they will not be allowed to take the test.
Taking the Tests
While students are taking their tests, they must:
Turn their phones off after authenticating with Duo and place them face-down in the designated area next to their computer.
- If students actively use their phones during the test, they will receive one warning. Their teacher will be notified and has the option to count it as cheating.
- If it happens a second time, they will not be allowed to finish their test and will have to leave the computer lab.
- If students fail to turn off their phones and it rings or vibrates during a test, a proctor will give them one warning and watch them turn them off.
- If students actively use their phones during the test, they will receive one warning. Their teacher will be notified and has the option to count it as cheating.
Not talk with other students.
- If they have questions, they need to ask a test proctor.
If they talk with other students, they will receive one warning. Their teacher will be notified and has the option to count it as cheating.
- If it happens a second time, they will not be allowed to finish their test and will have to leave the lab.
Not use any other website or resource unless allowed to do so by their teacher.
If students use other websites or resources that they are not allowed to use, they will receive one warning. Their teacher will be notified and has the option to count it as cheating.

Not right-click to try to get additional help with spelling, grammar, or translation.

Finishing the Tests
When students finish their tests, they must:
Log out of Canvas or testing website they are using.
- If they do not log out, the next person to use the computer will have access to their account.
Leave the computer lab immediately.
- They cannot stay to wait for a friend or talk with other students on their way out.
- They cannot stay to work on homework or other assignments. The computer lab is a testing center 9:00 am - 3:00 pm. If they want to work on homework during that time, they can check out a Chromebook from a lab attendant and use it in room 177.
