LATs Rules
Rules and information regarding the Testing Center at the ELC.
Testing Rules for LATs
By the last day of class, you must:
- Return anything you checked out from the ELC.
- Pay any fines that you have not paid.
- Complete the teacher/course evaluations.
Failure to follow any of these will result in not being allowed to take the LATs until you do.
At Check-In:
When students check in for the tests, they must:
Follow the dress and grooming standards of the Honor Code.
- Place all of their belongings in their lockers or in 103 by Sandy’s desk.
- Show their ID card (either the physical card or the digital card through the app)
- Turn off their phones (not silenced and not airplane mode)
Failure to follow the dress code or show their ID will result in students not being allowed to take the LATs until they do. If students are sent home to resolve a dress code issue and return late, students must pay a $10 late fee before they can take the tests.
In the Testing Rooms:When students are in the testing rooms, they must:
Place their turned-off phones face down on the desk.
- If their phone rings or vibrates during the test, a proctor will take their phone to the proctor desk where they can pick it up after.
- If they actively use their phone for any reason during the test, they will not be allowed to finish the LATs and will receive a 0, which means their semester and transcript will be incomplete.
Not talk with other students at any time while they are in the testing rooms.
- If they have questions, ask a test proctor.
- If they talk with other students, they will receive one warning.
- If it happens a second time, they will not be allowed to finish the LATs and will receive a 0, which means their semester and transcript will be incomplete.
Not use any other websites or resources.
- If they use other websites or resources, they will not be allowed to finish the LATs and will receive a 0, which means their semester and transcript will be incomplete.
Not take notes during any part of the test.
- If they take notes, the paper and the writing utensil will be taken away.
- If it happens a second time, they will not be allowed to finish the LATs and will receive a 0, which means their semester and transcript will be incomplete.
After the LATs:
When students finish the LATs, they must:
- Log out of the testing websites.
- Leave the testing area immediately without talking to other students while they are leaving.
- Avoid talking with other students about the tests because it counts as cheating if the other students haven’t taken them yet.
