Every member of the ELC Executive Council presents at a professional conference at least one time per year.
At least one ELC research article written by ELC faculty (and others) is published in a refereed journal.
Several faculty members of the Linguistics and English language Department are actively involved in research at the ELC.
At least half of the TESOL MA theses are based on research at the ELC with the majority investigating questions related to the ELC research agenda. Their findings are presented at professional conferences.
Mid-range Goals (by Summer 2005)
Have a solid draft of the ELC research agenda.
Investigate the possibility of providing financial support to present at professional conferences for part-time (community) ELC faculty who conduct research related to the ELC research agenda.
Revise LATs and provide suggestions for curriculum revision.
Short-term Goals (by end of Fall 2004)
Form a research and testing committee.
Have an initial draft of the ELC research agenda
Find sources for funding research (e.g., MEGs)
Review item analyses from Winter and Summer 2004 LATs and make suggestions for Winter 2005 revisions.
